Cancer will affect every one of us during our working life

For Diagnosed Employees

16% of people will be diagnosed with cancer during their working life.2 To be there when employees need it most, we have the CancerAid Coach Program.

  • Employees are assigned a health coach
  • Supports employees when they need it most, and empowers them to take back control of their diagnosis
  • 12-week program covering the key areas of cancer self-management
  • If employees are ready, we discuss return-to-work
"It helps you get access to resources that are vetted. Cancer treatment is so good, but you need that emotional and holistic support"

"I can’t find any faults in this program. There is a lot of unknowns and not knowing what to expect so it’s nice to have information to keep me grounded and on the right track."

For Employee Caregivers

The CancerAid Carers Program is there to support employee caregivers, which is up to 12% of the workforce at any given time.3

Providing unpaid care to someone diagnosed with cancer is an intense experience that comes at great cost to the carer’s own health and wellbeing (including higher risk of anxiety and depression).7 Caregiving also causes presenteeism.8

  • Employees have access to a health coach over a 6-week program
  • Covers communication tips, medical decisions, working with a team, and how to look after yourself
  • Program is designed to reduce the impact of informal caregiving on employees

For the Organization

For people to return to work, they need to feel work is a supportive environment. In one study, 52% of cancer patients believed they could have returned to work sooner if they received better support.9

  • Cancer prevention and awareness campaigns
  • Communication workshops for HR and Managers
  • Return-to-work plans and training
